MAD RIVER PATH JOB OPENING
COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Mad River Path is a community-supported organization leading the implementation of the Active Transportation Corridor from Warren to Moretown in the Mad River Valley, Vermont. We connect communities and provide access to nature and opportunities for outdoor recreation for valley residents and visitors. We believe that inclusive and safe human-powered transportation infrastructure fosters positive social change, healing our relationships with nature and each other, and leading to a sustainable future.
The successful candidate will effectively communicate the organization’s mission and vision to the Mad River Valley Community and beyond. They will work alongside the executive director, producing engaging, fun, informative, and uplifting digital and print content.
Responsibilities:
Website:
Weekly Website updates (Website is built on a Square Space platform; no coding is required) and ongoing improvements to website architecture
Path E-News and Announcements:
Publish bi-weekly (sometimes weekly) Mailchimp email newsletter and corresponding Facebook and Instagram posts. Post relevant Path news on the Front Porch Forum.
Graphic design:
Design posters and publication ads announcing public meetings, and events such as the Mad River Triathlon, and summer camps.
Video:
Create short promotional videos
GIS Mapping:
Maintain and update MRP trails on Trail Forks as needed
IT support:
Manage and improve registration platforms (Tri-reg and Easy Reg)
Develop Surveys:
Maintain Mad River Path accounts and passwords with the IT providers, provide tech support to the ED
Hours and Compensation:
$30 - 35 per hour, 2 – 6 hours per week with one weekly meeting. Flexible hours.
