2020 was suppose to be the 25th anniversary of the Mad Dash. The pandemic hit and the Mad Dash went virtual. With great community support, the virtual event was successful, and now we are ready to celebrate 25 years properly! The in-person 2021 event will be bigger and better than ever. And for those who participated virtually and are out of state, we will offer the virtual option again. It's the best of both worlds -- so everyone can support the Mad Path.
Due to the overwhelming growth of the Mad Dash, we scouted out a new course that better represents the Mad River Path organization. Behind Harwood Union High School is a magnificent assortment of pathways utilized by the high school’s state champion cross country team. As part of the support of the valley’s pathway system we have worked with the cross country coaches identifying some of the most scenic, and challenging, trails in the valley. The 5k course was available last year as our virtual course. Look for the added 10k course that features both scenic and challenging trails. Best of all, 2021 brings us all together again.
Registration for the 25th Mad Dash is easy. Register early and save more money. All registrations/donations benefit the Mad River Path Association, funding the expansion and upkeep of our many country paths. The Mad River Path Association is a member-supported, 501(C)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to build, maintain, and conserve a system of continuous public pathways from Warren to Moretown fostering a healthy community by connecting the people, businesses and special places of the Mad River Valley.
COVID precautions: at a minimum, all state guidelines will be followed. Please keep an eye on the registration site for updates, but do plan to bring a mask to wear in the main tent and start/finish area.
