Go for a walk!

Go swimming
The Path winds past several swimming holes in the Mad River. Go explore the Path and find your favorite! Be sure to visit Friends of the Mad River “River Watch” to make sure the water is safe from pathogens before swimming.

go for a bike ride
Explore miles of beautiful biking opportunities, no matter your speed! Whether you like pavement, gravel, boardwalk, or trail, it’s easy to get out on a bike in the Valley. Our local chapter of the Vermont Mountain Bike Association, Mad River Riders, has all the info you need to get started.
Go fishing
There are countless fishing opportunities off the Path where it travels along the Mad River. You’ll mostly find rainbow and brook trout in the Mad and its tributaries. Click here for the trail map to explore river access.
