MRP Welcomes Two New Board Members

The Mad River Path is thrilled to announce two new members to the Board of Directors. Jessica Tompkins and Pat Travers, both of Waitsfield, joined the Board this spring to help guide MRP’s work over the upcoming years. As with all our volunteer Board Members, we’re so grateful for their dedication to the Mad River path and the MRV’s outdoors recreation.

"Over the years, for me, the Mad River Path has been a safe place to reflect, contemplate, grieve, and celebrate all of life's challenges while walking or jogging. The Mad River Path offers a wonderful setting for those deep soulful talks with friends, the talks that only seem to happen when walking outside. The Path has always felt like a gift. I'm proud and grateful to be on the board working in collaboration with other members to help ensure this gift can be received by community members and visitors alike for many years to come."

“I’ve been taking advantage of the recreational opportunities in the Mad River Valley since the early 1980’s, first as a visitor and later-on as a happy permanent resident. It only seemed natural to me to help with the development of the Mad River Path, which enables people to get out and recreate in this valley.”

We also want to thank Cath Kalkstein for her years of service to the Mad River Path as she just retired from the Board. Cath served as MRP’s Secretary most recently, and she will be missed dearly at our meetings!
